Film Club
"The First Rule of film club is that there is no film club..."
Apologies to "Fight Club" but this side of the term will see the formal establishment of the Academy Film Club. Full details will be announced over the next fortnight. If you would like to be part of its running or want to know more, come and see me in Room C5.
History of Hollywood and Media
For a detailed look at the film industry, the role of media and its future, Monaco's book is excellent. Although extremely technical in some parts, chapter 6 "Media in the Middle of Things" is well worth reading as it sweeps effortlessly from print via the digital revolution to cyberspace and virtual reality.

BBC YOUNG NEWS REPORTERS' PROJECT
Mrs Clayton, the team from Manchester CLC and I visit BBC News Studios in London on Tuesday, 13th February 2007.
Seated, is Jane Hill. She had just finished reading the one O'clock News.
Later, we met Huw Edwards who had travelled to work on the Tube proving his "Green" credentials.
A former teacher himself, he was really supportive of the Young News Reporters' Project and took time
from his busy schedule to talk about the project and to ask how we were getting on.
Cluster Day
A big, big thank you to Caroline and Lisa and all at T-MAC for all their help and support today. It was really great meeting other colleagues involved in media and sharing ideas and resources.
