Perhaps it's not the fact that Matt Smith is the youngest actor (26) to play the Doctor but that millions of people were actually bothered enough to tune to BBC 1 on Saturday to find out demonstrating not only the pulling power of the show but the miracle of regenerating (apologies!) the once staid, boring, cheap and irrelevant show into something which contemporary, dynamic and fun.
